Giving Tuesday

The Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday is a day of giving back. Since 2012, this day has been referred to as Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global movement that provided over $2.9 billion in donations in 2020 alone.
Part of the Giving Tuesday motto is radical generosity, and this generosity is about giving back in any way possible, even if you just share a post on social media. It is all about doing something for the betterment of the community.
Giving back is very important for us here at Denver Media Group. That is why in honor of Giving Tuesday, we want to share with you five ways to give back and highlight some fantastic nonprofits who need your support.
Five ways to give back
While there are so many different ways that one can give back during Giving Tuesday and the rest of the year, these are five of the most important ways.
Give support
Whether it is sharing social media posts, attending events, or volunteering with your company, it is important to support in whatever ways you can!
Give time
Time is valuable, so ensure that it is spent well by giving back. When it comes to giving time, it can mean attending an event, volunteering, going to virtual fundraisers, and suggesting this nonprofit when it comes to the end of the year giving at your company.
Give money
A single monetary donation could be the catalyst for a new program launching or responsible for providing new supplies for a shelter. Even the smallest donation can make a difference.
Give your skills
As a business professional, is there a nonprofit or after-school program you could support? Would children or adults benefit from your skills? This is one way to give back in conjunction with giving your time.
Give voice
Even the smallest of voices can be heard, and for many nonprofits, using your voice helps to amplify their small voice. When someone asks for a nonprofit to donate to, suggest your favorite one, or tell others about the great work they do and the available volunteer opportunities.
That is the thing with radical generosity, it doesn’t need to be massive to make a difference.
